DARRELL WONGE
Darrell Wonge is a cinematographer known for his bold, cinematic visuals across fashion, beauty, alcohol and sports. With a background as a professional athlete, he brings discipline, precision and a dynamic approach to every frame.
His recent work includes the CSA-winning doc series Paid in Full: The Battle for Black Music, where he served as Director of Photography and the feature film Paying For It, which won Best Cinematography and Best Adapted Screenplay at the Canadian Screen Awards. Darrell stepped in as DP for the final stretch of principal photography, delivering key scenes that helped bring the film across the finish line.
Darrell also lensed the children’s series Media Stamped, which was nominated for 3 Canadian Screen Awards and the comedy series The Dessert (Crave), nominated for Best Comedy Series at the CSAs. His narrative work has screened at TIFF, VIFF, ReelWorld, CTFF and the Houston International Sports Film Festival and he’s been featured on Filmmakers Academy. Additional credits include Black Life: Untold Stories (CBC) and Quiet Minds Silent Streets (TIFF).
He regularly collaborates with award-winning directors on both commercials and longform content, known for his creative leadership, strong lighting instincts and ability to deliver under pressure.
